Ahhh first installment of the new Not on the Shelf.
News:
I broke down and won 3 Amie magazines on Ebay and bought 2 Shounen Ace from a online friend. Ph34r. Seriously, I've wanted an entire set of Amie magazines since I first heard about the magazine 4 years ago. ^^ Needless to say I am very very happy with the issues I have (2 of them have Nervous Venus covers). If anybody has any Amie telephone books they don't want, I will buy them!
Musings:
Asuka:
Well its official, Asuka now runs Angelique. To quote a friend, "That story has no plot!" and true to form (I have about 3-4 volumes of the series) it really has no plot. ^^;;; Its just one of those things that seems to be either based on RPG or the RPG is based off the manga. Angelique reminds me of St. License in a way but St. License at least had plot! Though I have to say that all the stories I like are either ending (Lagoon Engine) or are getting squished to the back. From past experience (though I am not sure if this rule applie to Asuka) most stories that run in the back end of telephone books are stories that are about to end or are ending. Which means Pretear, Mikan no Tsuki, and Billion Girl is ending, which is sad because those are great stories with great plot. Current stories on the other hand are sort of just floundering around. I don't know what to make of them really. ^^;;;
LaLa
LaLa is getting interesting, I haven't checked it out for Haruka toki no Nakade, but the current chapter of KareKano is getting good (if not down right scary to quote the KareKano ML). Tsubasa is just not getting it and neither is Kazuma *Steph beats them with the clue by 4* Kazuma though seems to realize that his emotions for Tsubasa is useful to write really good lyrics. Tsubasa on the other hand is just going nuts! (She *clicks* on her mechanical pencil repeatedly with out noticing o_O). I'm slowly getting into Fun Fun Factory, its such a cute story and so cutely drawn. ^_^
Pretear Manga
I have decided to summarize Pretear Manga as well as the chapters running in Asuka. (Of course every time I say this I never do it). So keep an eye out for this blog for random musings and entries on Pretear.
