Vol 3:
Second story arc begins from the point of view of Yayoi. We see from her point of view we see Mayune as glamourus as ever and Mawata as perfect as ever, also we meet Kaworu and Natsue again, looking very much like a happy wealthy couple (dressed up to go out). Himeno on the other hand managed to fall into a koi pond and is dripping all over the floors of the Awayuki mansion.
Yayoi is amazed at the life Himeno lives, and Himeno admits that she's uncomfortable living in a large house. Later she thinks about this as she stands at her balcony, and suddenly it is raining red snow. Himeno immediately thinks about Saihi and the Leafe knights, just as the thinks about them they appear one by one asking her to become Pretear again. Himeno agrees and takes Sasame's hand to become sound Pretear.
The second story arc deals with Himeno's family relationship. Natsue sees Himeno as an obstacle to her happiness with Kaoru. Kaoru's worries about Himeno makes Natsue feel as if she is competeing against not only Himeno's dead mother but Himeno as well. She thinks Kaoru loves Himeno more than Natsue herself. Natsue's anger towards Himeno and her fear of losing Kaoru's love are the factors that turn Natsue into Saihi.
This leads Natsue to become nastier than before, and she uses various people against Himeno including a maid (not Mikage-san) and her own daughter, Mayune.
Meanwhile Himeno is worried that she may become the next Saihi. (My assumption is because the Leafe Knights nor Himeno know why the mayochou are appearing or why it showed red snow.) She worries that she may follow the same path that Takako walked. The Leafe knights begin to take turns watching over Himeno (Hayate first... he ends up staying in her room all night) and later Sasame, who takes her to FM Kadokawa.
Vol 4:
During this time Himeno's dad has an accident (he slips on the stairs) and everyone was worried, but Natsue pushed Himeno aside to be with Kaoru. Natsue's concern only for Kaoru has another consequence - Mawata feels alienated from her own mother, that Natsue doesn't care for her. Mawata seems to be obsessed with listening to Sasame's radio show (Wazget? I could never figure out the romanization of that thing) because it's her only source of hope and she remembers the time she met Sasame, however briefly, at school. (Part of the first story arc, when Sasame has the duty of Himeno-Guard-Duty for the day. This also sows the seeds in Mawata's mind that Sasame and Himeno are in love.) Mayune, under Saihi's influence, attacks Himeno at the radio station. Mawata is sitting outside listening to the radio show when she realizes something is going on. The Leafé Knights and Pretear destroy Saihi's influence and discuss what's going on - Mawata overhears, and Sasame notices Mawata. Later, Sasame encounters Mawata and tries to figure out what's going on while the others try to figure out who Saihi is.
During the fight with Mayune, Himeno became Light Pretear, but afterwards Kei was weak. (I didn't quite catch why this was, but I think it's because Himeno was using too much of the Knight's power.) In a later battle she becomes Plant Pretear, but after the battle Shin disappears. Distraught, Himeno runs away from the others, and Hayate searches everywhere trying to find her. Around this time Kaoru also disappears.
They eventually realize Natsue is Saihi (it is Mawata herself who brings this news) and Himeno gathers her confidence to become Fire Pretear to help Mawata. However after this she returns to her normal self and then holds everyone's hands
and becomes the White Pretear. Himeno and Mawata (who insists on helping out) face Natsue/Saihi and ultimately prevail (of course ^_^) Later, Shin is shown enjoying dessert at the cafe Goh works out (something about when Himeno became
White Pretear and restored his Leafé or, er, I should reread that part I think...) Kaoru reappears (he went off to write a novel for Natsue). Himeno goes out one night, and Natsue tells her to be careful. The Awayuki family is now a family in spirit as well as name. ^_^
Oh, and there's a really sweet epilogue:
Himeno/White Pretear is sleeping (think Snow White ^_~), and she hears someone calling her.
It's Hayate.
She wakes up. ^_^
